In these modern times, you’re hard-pressed NOT to use the internet on a day to day basis. Whether it’s conducting business, streaming the best and latest entertainment, buying food and clothes, or just catching up with friends; the internet is key. With so much time spent online then, it’s reassuring to know that there are ways of protecting yourself.
A VPN (Virtual Private Network) is one such way of doing this. With a VPN you can surf anonymously, bypass certain digital barriers, and keep your personal data secure. But with many different VPN providers out there, it can be tricky finding the one that’s right for you.
The most common function of a VPN is to mask or change the users IP address. Likewise, the purpose of using the VPN may differ based on its requirements. For example, a Kodi user may need VPN for streaming Geo-restricted content. But always remember that all VPN services won’t support Kodi. So always make sure you choose a working VPN for Kodi to stream the geo-restricted content.
Today I’ll be comparing two VPNs; IPVanish and VyprVPN.
First up is IPVanish. This is a great VPN, heralding from the United States of America. I like IPVanish because it’s got a pretty robust set of protocols, making a very secure and safe VPN to use. By using OpenVPN encryption, you can be sure that your personal data is protected, and you always have the option to use other types of encryption if you so desire. IPVanish doesn’t keep logs of your internet activity as well, so there’s a good element of anonymity. This is fairly standard practice though, so whilst it’s not a bad thing, it’s not exactly groundbreaking. Still, this makes for a very decent VPN.
VyprVPN also has very strong encryption. For a start, the basic package of VyperVPN includes a 128bit PPTP protocol, which should provide sufficient safety measures for most VPN users. If this is not enough for you, however, the pro version of the VPN does offer 256bit encryption. Unlike IPVanish, VyprVPN keeps logs. Obviously, VyprVPN does not share this information and keep the data secure, but if you are more concerned about anonymity then this might not be the VPN for you.
Why do I recommend VyprVPN?
Having said this, given its security features are particularly good, when it comes down to a contest between VyprVPN and IPVanish, VyprVPN wins for me. VyprVPN is great for personal usage. It secures your online sessions with multiple layers of protection. With this service you can surf any website anonymously; you can unblock any website. Moreover, the huge server database and IP addresses keep your identity perfectly secure and hidden. The speeds are terrific and the problem of connection dropping which is quite prevalent with other VPN services is completely absent in VyprVPN. Finally, the service is handled by Golden Frog, a reputed company worldwide. On my personal evaluation scale, it will get 8.8 out of 10.
